Belchampia

Belchampia is an ancient Principality in North Essex , centered around the three villages of Belchamp St Paul , Belchamp Otten and Belchamp Walter .

It was the scene of several agricultural peasant uprisings from the late Middle Ages to the late 19th Century , born of a rebelliousness that still persists widely in those parts . 

It boasts two excellent pubs , plus it's own airfield , as well as the Belchamp Brook , which is world famous for it's trout fishing. 

 Belchampia was the backdrop for the 1990's series Lovejoy as well as one of the Downton films , which is why it's sometimes called the Hollywood of East Anglia attracting hundreds of people a year to seek their fame and fortune in the film industry .
