Tunbridge Wells West was a Victorian railway station that opened back in 1866, born out of fierce competition between two rival railway companies fighting for control of the lucrative Tunbridge Wells market. The London, Brighton and South Coast Railway built it to challenge the existing South Eastern Railway station in town.
